Hi - I'm developing an ezine for a group of friends, we used to run http://soundtracksforthem.blogspot.com together and we want to up our ante and do it as a proper ezine.  We've opted for the Ijoomla Magazine option to do that and are playing around at soundtracksforthem.com/mag with the various options.  We are having more success nearly with a word press magazine style option at our little playground at soundtracksforthem.com/blog

Really I'd like to stick with IJoomla, as it offers great benefits such as the newsletter and the PDF maker, etc.

Really we are looking at developing a site along the lines of http://spannered.org.

Do you think that is possible with Ijoomla magazine?  How can I have selected rotating featured images and articles like that? Is there a component you would recommend?  I'm okay at editing CSS sheets, but how do I get the content from my blog over into joomla to then populate the magazine?

I'm real confused about migrating my content too.  I want to set up some routine categories that will reflect the content of our magazine, like if this was word press these would be the categories, so like say

*Music
*Screen
*Paper
*Foreign
*Colour
*Politricks
*Interviews

AND then we want just a general blog, where we speak our brains and can use tags to organise it.  But keeping it separate from the main ezine of proper articles.

As an example with my old blog I had lots of tags, and then some more select tags that were hand coded into my sidebar to pull up more general topics such as music, the less obvious talks such as a DJ's name would be left out and only viewable under a post on him to pull other relevent posts.  It was crude and effective.

Do you have any idea how I can achieve this with IJoomla and hat components, non-commericial releases preferred that I can use alongside it to get the right effect?
