Categories not showing correctly : iJoomla News Portal

I'm having problems with 'Featured Categories' - I want to show "Only Categories of the same featured section' but it shows ALL of them (it does change the number of rows - currently I have them at 9)

Try going to the general tab and you can change the featured categories to how you want it to display.

I did ... that's where you set "Only Categories of the same featured section' it isn't working !

The Section "Legislation & Environment' has 4 Categories (as can be seen from the drop-down menu) BUT none of them are showing... Instead I'm getting Categories from various other Sections showing up

Actually I had the same problem a few weeks ago, where the categories wouldn't even show up on one of my pages, but everywhere else had no problems. I will have to check and see what I did. Also are you creating the dropdown menu from the module? Because if you are you will have to change the properties with the module in the module manager.

Thanks Smooth,

The dropdowns are built in to the Teline template - and, frustratingly, actually lead to a different ID than iJoomla News (a real pain when we're trying to sell ads into specific pages)

That's the main reason we haven't bothered displaying the 'Category' feature in iJoomla News for the past 6 months or so.

But now we're having a rethink since tracking shows not many visitors are using the dropdowns (so are really only visiting what's on the front page) so don't see the "depth" of the site.

Any help will be appreciated.

Oh can you take a screen-shot of what you see in the 'Featured Category' menu in any of the Section pages - I'm also having probs seeing CSS changes - seperate pose!

Check "Additional Options" in the reply panel... did you recall your Fix?

Shoggard, I tried everywhere to find a fix for this but I couldn't. You might want to check out the new portals category section and look at the include and featured boxes for it. If you I would suggest submitting a support ticket because they are really good at answering these types of questions. Let me know what the response is if you do submit a support ticket, because I have taken the featured categories off because it was showing every category on every page.

this link is section page and on section page you have set for this option: "On section page show" to show all categories.

this is a category page and down at Categories you can see only 2 categories from the same section : Branding & Retail
categories are :
Products and Packs ( Products & Packs ) - is the category page

1.Business ( Business )
2.Marketing and Strategies ( Marketing & Strategies )

Down are Featured Categories (were is "Categories" and background color is white and no read.

I am not very sure why you said that these are wrong.
