In the screenshot of morechristains.com I see them having two side bars on the left and right. I see others with right sidebars. But when I try to create sidebars via the articles section of magazines, the output is zilch. Am I missing something? Do they use Ijoomla Sidebars?

Hi Robert,

Please edit the article where you want to place the sidebar. At "Side Bar" tab select the contet you want to display as sidebar in that article.

I have no clue how I am going to edit the article for sidebars?

Go to Magazine - Manage Content - Articles.
Then, you will see all your articles.
Edit an item and at "Side Bar" tab select the contet you want to display as sidebar.
If you need more references you can check the manual.
