Since I've been a very happy customer with ijoomla components that I ue, I wanted to share with you this idea, which might be produced as a component if found suitable.

ijoomla e-brary or e-library
Basically it is a way for publishing books online (rather than the usual PDF way) through joomla.

Something like this:

Features:
- pages and flipping in pages
- side bar has "search within this book" and "table of contents with links to chapters' names" and possibly a thumbnail to the book cover if available.
- registered users can highlight text, bookmark pages, or add notes to parts of the books.



http://www.questia.com is an nice example that offers ebooks in a nice user friendly way.

Joomla really lacks a component that does this, and producing one will really fill a void and will be very well-received.
So, if you plan to release something that does these things, please add me to the list of eager buyers
